Dear Parliamentaries,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

First of all, I would like to welcome all the presence from NATO, Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf Countries in this meeting held in State of Qatar. I would like to express my profound pleasure, with members of the Qatari advisory council for meeting you here in Doha.

Also, I would like to thank you for choosing our country for such an important meeting.

The security and stability in the world represent sublime goal for all of us. The peace will not realize unless all nations obtain their liberties and exercise their rights democratically, and the international community become satisfied that the human be free and enjoy all his rights made by the international law.

The government have shouldered the responsibility to be committed with transparency, freedom of speech, supremacy of law, freedom of both sexes man and woman, and that all countries and nations have their all rights, equality, justice within international community.

In the first degree, the security in gulf region is the responsibility of each country, but since there are other parties having borders on the gulf, the security arrangements between Gulf Countries and great powers have become an important issue for achieving stability, security, peace and to protect this vital area of the world from being exposed to external circumstances out of control and dangerous to social, economical and cultural acquisitions.

We are all aiming at protecting the international community – particularly this area – from falling in terrorism, WMD (weapons of mass destruction), nuclear terror, regional and international disputes.

The State of Qatar always welcomes the dialogue and exchange of views. His Highness Sheikh, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar (may God protect him) has established wise policy that conferences and meetings aiming at spreading free, open, constructive thinking as well as dialogue leading to human development, security, peace, democracy and justice should be held. This enables the nations and the humankind to get their rights in atmosphere of understanding, accepting the others within international collective work.

Our country has acquired international reputation in fields of humanitarian, developmental and political work due to its commitments with rules of law, justice and its efforts to realize the dream of the humanity.

I wish you all comfortable residence in Doha and to find – in this meeting – the concepts you may need and be acquainted with the opinions, and the real image of the situation in Gulf area.

We highly appreciate your coming here, where the cooperation, meeting, exchange of ideas, having the opinions of experts in topics necessary for the region and the world shall take place.
